Kiwanis is the safety net that creates opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy
regardless of the community in which they live. That's why Kiwanis is so important.
The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown is proud of our over 77 years of service to our community and beyond.
Our many service projects include:
- Support of local youth in need of help with summer camps, sport and other youth initiatives
- Donation of library books to the three Ridgetown schools
- Organizing the annual Santa Claus parade
- Organizing the annual Teddy Bear picinic in support of the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario
- Scholarships for Ridgetown District High School Key Club graduates
- Support of local elementary schools with supplies and graduation awards
- Support of local youth sports programmes, skating and swimming
- Support of the new CK Children's Treatment Centre
- Recycle program for aluminum cans and liquor bottles
- Support of the new Ridgetown Adult Activity Centre
- New splash pad and pavillion in Kiwanis Community Park
- Support of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance
- Support of the Howard Mutual Medical Centre
- Support of the "Eliminate" Kiwanis International Service Project - eliminating maternal & neonatal tetanus (MNT) throughout the world
- School Parent-Teacher night BBQs for local elementary schools
- Particpation in local events and town activities
- Highway Clean up
Our commitment is epitomized by our Service Leadership Programmes. The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown is the proud sponsor of the Aktion Club of Ridgetown.
Our Aktion Club for adults with disabilities is an integral part of our Kiwanis family. The enthusiastic members of the Aktion club participate in many events with us, as well as having their own meetings and fundraisers.
